Cortland Lyles

Cortland Lyles is an associate with our firm. Cortland was born and raised in Alexandria, Louisiana. He graduated from Menard High School in 2012 and then attended LSU where he received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a minor in Business Administration. After graduating from LSU undergrad in 2016, he attended Southern University Law Center where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 2019. While at Southern, he externed at the East Baton Rouge District Attorney’s office and Koch Law Firm.

Before joining the team at Hannah, Colvin & Pipes, LLP, Cortland clerked for a year and half for the Honorable Judge Mary Doggett in the 9th JDC in Alexandria. He then relocated back to Baton Rouge where he worked for the Louisiana Department of Justice as an Assistant Attorney General (“AAG”). While an AAG, he handled motor vehicle accidents involving state employees and also complex cases on behalf of DOTD involving road hazards.

Cortland practices in the area of general civil litigation, including insurance defense and personal injury.  Cortland manages litigation files from institution to resolution.  He is a member of the Louisiana and Baton Rouge Bar Associations.
