Jack Roethele has extensive experience in personal injury litigation including automobile accidents, trucking accidents, premises liability, general liability, insurance coverage issues, and bad faith matters. He has been in practice for over 37 years. Jack started and managed his own firm from 1996 until 2025 when he joined Hannah, Colvin and Pipes, LLP and continues to represent major Insurance companies, their insureds, Fortune 500 Companies, and individuals in litigated matters. Jack has applied his unique background and his professional experience as a litigator and manager of a small firm operating in a large arena to mediation with a proven track record of success. Jack has been successfully serving as a mediator since 2017.
Jack was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1962. Jack graduated from Bonnabel High School in Metairie, Louisiana in 1980, having played basketball and baseball earning All District and other honors in baseball. He then attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana (U.S.L) where he obtained a degree in Business Administration, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1984. Thereafter, he attended law school at LSU Paul M. Hebert Center and graduated in 1987. Jack was admitted to practice law in Louisiana in 1987 and has practiced in the Baton Rouge, Denham Springs, and Hammond areas. After success and positive experiences with other firms, Jack started his own firm in 1996, John T. Roethele, A Professional Law Corporation, in Denham Springs, Louisiana where he practiced and managed the firm for almost 30 years before joining Hannah, Colvin and Pipes in 2025. Jack continues his practice today with emphasis in Insurance Defense and Personal Injury, practicing in multiple jurisdictions in Southeast Louisiana. Jack has successfully represented major insurance companies and Fortune 100 companies in litigated matters, as well as injured individuals in both state and federal courts. He has tried and won cases in multiple jurisdictions in Louisiana and has successfully handled appellate matters in Louisiana appellate courts.
In addition to being admitted to the Louisiana Bar, Jack was also admitted to the U.S. Middle District of Louisiana in 1987 and the U.S. Eastern District of Louisiana in 1989. He received 40 hours of civil mediation training in 2016 at The Mediation Institute, as well as other private mediation training. Jack has been a mediator since 2017 and currently serves as a mediator at Perry Dampf Dispute Solutions. Jack is a member of the U.S.L. Business Administration Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, LSU Alumni Association, Louisiana State Bar Association, Baton Rouge Bar Association, the Twenty-First Judicial District Bar Association and Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel. He has served, by court appointment, to the Notarial Examination Committee and as an attorney and advocate in cases involving families and children in need of care.
